Alumni Network
An Eisenhower Fellowship is a lifelong experience. The nearly 2,000 men and women who have been awarded an Eisenhower Fellowship since our founding in 1953 are all members of this unique global network.
EF alumni undertake collaborative events in countries around the world. We currently have active programs in:

Roles Played by EF Alumni
- Host and organize EF conferences and events (including Eisenhower Day of Fellowship)
- Identify promising candidates for the fellowship
- Organize professional and social/cultural meetings for visiting Fellows, trustees, and sponsors on program
- Collaboration with Fellows throughout the network
- Provide input to the president and senior staff through the Alumni Council
- Mentor newly accepted Fellows
Distinguished Alumnus Award
In 2008, EF established the Distinguished Alumnus Award to recognize an alumnus who has made a significant contribution to his or her field of endeavor, and proven leadership in the alumni network. The recipient's post-fellowship activities must reflect President Eisenhower's commitment to peace and productivity by working through direct personal contacts across boundaries. This award is open to anyone who has been awarded an Eisenhower Fellowship. It is presented at the Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees.

The Philadelphia headquarters maintains an alumni network office headed by Diane Shoemaker for the purpose of keeping in contact with alumni, facilitating communication with one another and providing assistance with alumni activities. The office maintains a confidential online directory of Fellows for all Fellows.
